Church Tours
Throughout the year, ELPC offers regular guided tours of our magnificent Gothic-style cathedral following our Sunday worship services.
View our upcoming Church Tour schedule on our event calendar. If you’re like to go on a walking tour, a helpful guide is available at the Welcome Desk at the Highland entrance or you can download a PDF. Private tours also are available. Call 412.441.3800 for details.
Guided church tours include discussions on ELPC’s architecture and art, as well as its many stained glass windows (made by several different local artisans). Tours also include a discussion of the symbolism in our church, particularly in its hand-carved wood and stone works, as well as an interweaving of the histories of the city of Pittsburgh and ELPC. Other tours involve climbing a spiral staircase to the top of our landmark tower with panoramic views of East Liberty and beyond; wandering around our cavernous basement with the organ bellows and the building’s heating system; walking into the Trinity Chapel with its symbolism and one-of-a-kind stained glass window; and exploring the outside of our church building with an architectural historian.
