Church Tours
Throughout the year, ELPC offers regular guided tours of our magnificent Gothic-style cathedral following our Sunday worship services.
View our upcoming Church Tour schedule on our event calendar. If you’re like to go on a walking tour, a helpful guide is available at the Welcome Desk at the Highland entrance or you can download a PDF.
Guided church tours include discussions on ELPC’s architecture and art, as well as its many stained glass windows (made by several different local artisans). Tours also include a discussion of the symbolism in our church, particularly in its hand-carved wood and stone works, as well as an interweaving of the histories of the city of Pittsburgh and ELPC. Other tours involve climbing a spiral staircase to the top of our landmark tower with panoramic views of East Liberty and beyond; wandering around our cavernous basement with the organ bellows and the building’s heating system; walking into the Trinity Chapel with its symbolism and one-of-a-kind stained glass window; and exploring the outside of our church building with an architectural historian.
