Here’s what’s happening this week in worship at ELPC.
Maundy Thursday | 7 pm
Maundy Thursday invites us into the story of the Last Supper, where Jesus gathered with his friends and showed us what love looks like yet again.
Join us for a heartfelt, inclusive service with music, poetry, scripture, communion, and a symbolic washing ritual. Through an emotional Stripping of the Church, we will ponder what it must have felt like when the disciples were stripped of their hope as Jesus was unjustly arrested by the Roman authorities.
Come just as you are with your joys and sorrows. Come with your hopes and fears as we experience the story of Holy Week.
Good Friday Service | Friday, 12 pm & 7 pm
Join us on Good Friday as we journey with Jesus through his final hours—not just to remember his suffering, but to reflect on the suffering still present in our world today. Through scripture, prayer, music, and personal reflection, we’ll name injustice, confess complicity, and renew our commitment to love and liberation.
We’ll journey through the Stations of the Cross with honest questions:
- Where are we silent when we should speak?
- Whose burdens are we helping carry?
- What crosses are we ignoring in our world?
And when Jesus is silenced through crucifixion, we will depart in silence, too on Good Friday.
This is a solemn service for those who believe faith means showing up for the oppressed, for the hurting, for truth. Join us as we grieve, remember, and reflect.
Midday service starts at Noon. The evening service begins at 7pm on Friday, April 18.
All are welcome, especially those who long for justice and meaning in today’s world.
Easter Sunday Journey Worship | Sunday, 8:45 am & 11 am
Alleluia, Christ is risen! Easter is more than lilies and alleluias. Easter is the promise that love gets the final word, that stones can be rolled away, and that hope rises even from the gloomiest places.
We’ll gather with special musical guests such as the Brass Roots and organist Ryan Croyle who will accompany Dr. Ed Moore and our Chancel Choir. With hope-filled music, sacred scripture, and an inclusive celebration of the Lord’s Supper, we will proclaim a message of good news for all people. Whether you come with deep faith or hurting hearts, you are welcome in this sacred space. All are invited!
Easter Sunday services begin at 8:45am and 11am on April 20. Join us as we celebrate Resurrection Sunday!
